Oyo state government says persons living with disabilities in the state will be entitled to five percent slot in the ongoing recruitment exercise for teaching and non-teaching staff, and environmental health officers.
The Executive Assistant to the Governor on Disability Matters, Mr. Ayodele Adekanbi disclosed this in an interview with state House correspondent at the Secretariat, Ibadan.
Mr. Adekanbi also urged persons living with disabilities who are prospective applicants to seek necessary assistance on how to go about the exercise through his office, rather than undergoing the rigors of the process.
Mr. Adekanbi equally hinted that the administration’s friendly dispositions to persons living with disabilities have continued to yield positive results as the Governor recently included persons living with disabilities into the Local Government caretaker administration system in line with the policy of inclusion.
He added that plans were now in top gear for the establishment of persons living with disability commission and domestication of the bill on persons living with disabilities which had reached second reading
