Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has relieved the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion, Hon. (Mrs.) Toyin Balogun, of her appointment.
The development was announced on Tuesday as part of a minor cabinet reshuffle by the governor.
Mrs. Balogun was appointed Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion at the commencement of Governor Makinde’s second term in office.
Following her removal, the governor redeployed Alhaja Faosat Joke Sanni to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Inclusion to take over the leadership of the ministry.
Mrs. Sanni is no stranger to the ministry, having previously served as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Inclusion between 2019 and 2023 during Governor Makinde’s first term. She was subsequently moved to the Ministry of Special Duties in 2023 before her recent redeployment to the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives.
Governor Makinde expressed appreciation to Mrs. Balogun for her services and contributions to the development of Oyo State during her tenure. He also wished her success in her future endeavours.
The latest redeployment returns Mrs. Sanni to the ministry where she previously served, as the administration continues efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across government ministries.
