Amosun Alternative Party Confirmed, INEC Listed Aides As DPP’s Candidates For NASS

The new political development emanating from Ogun State has confirmed the growing speculation that Amosun has alternative plans, having been unhappy with the outcome of the governorship and legislative primaries in the All Progressives Congress (APC).

As pasted on friday by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and confirmed by westerndailynews, the
Democratic People’s Party (DPP) candidates for the 2019 general elections for National Assembly are core loyalists and Aides of governor Ibikunle Amosun, who are all members of All Progressive Party ( APC ).

Comprising the three senatorial list of Democratic People’s Party (DPP) are : Dr. Babatunde Ipaye, the Ogun State Commissioner for Health for Ogun East Senatorial District, Alhaji Bola Adeyemi Senior Special Assistant to Amosun for Ogun Central Senatorial District and Chief Taiwo Fagbemi, Senior Special Assistant on Energy, as the senatorial candidate for Ogun West.

The Red Chamber, House of Representatives candidates was not left out, as APC chairman for Egbado South Local Government, Odebiyi Safiu Abiodun (Egbado South /Ipokia Federal constituency); a younger brother to the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Adekunbi Fatai Aremu; Alhaji Taofeek Olabode, a serving chairman of Abeokuta North Local Council Development Area as candidate for Abeokuta North/ Obafemi-Owode/Odeda Federal Constituency.

Making the DPP approved candidates by INEC are also Odumosu Olugbenga (Remo North); a Commissioner in the Civil Service Commission, Mojeed Ekelojumati (Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside); the current chairman of APC in Ifo LG, Saheed Ariori (Ifo/Ewekoro) and Lamidi Rasheed (Ado-Odo/Ota).

Others on the list are the General Manager of the State Housing Corporation, Ms Olajumoke Akinwunmi (Abeokuta South); the current chairman of Odogbolu Local Government, Wale Shittu (Ijebu Central Federal Constituency).

It was reported by westerndailynews that the Ogun State governor Ibikunle Amosun earlier denied defecting from APC and played down rumour of anti party activities from any of his Aides and loyalists. With the current report, which reveals DPP as moving political train for Amosun loyalists while still a political office holders under the banner of APC on Ogun State, it shows governor Amosun is on alert for the political waves in Ogun APC.
