The Oyo State governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, has continued his consultative engagements with stakeholders across the state, visiting Olorunsogo and Irepo Local Government Areas to interact with traditional rulers, traders, artisans, party leaders and other community stakeholders.
Adekanmbi, who undertook the visits on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, said the engagements were part of his efforts to understand the concerns and expectations of communities ahead of the commencement of the 2027 campaign.
At the palace of the Onigbeti of Igbeti, HRM Oba (Engr.) Bashir Olalekan Abioye, Siyanbola IV, Adekanmbi was received by the monarch and residents of the community.
During the engagement, traders, artisans, members of the Park Management System (PMS) and other stakeholders presented a number of issues requiring government attention.
Among the concerns raised were the reconstruction of the Iseyin-Igbeti road, rehabilitation and construction of inner-town roads, upgrading of Igbeti General Hospital to a state-owned hospital, and policies to ensure that the exploitation of mineral resources in the area delivers greater benefits to the host community.
The stakeholders also called for increased employment opportunities for youths and greater representation of people from the area in state governance.
Similarly, at the palace of the Iba of Kishi, HRM Oba M.O. Lawal Arowoduye II (JP), Adekanmbi was warmly received and offered prayers by the monarch.
Stakeholders in Kishi also outlined their expectations, including empowerment programmes, employment opportunities for educated youths, establishment of a vocational centre for artisans, specialised seminars to enhance artisans’ skills and businesses, as well as improved road networks.
The APM governorship candidate assured the stakeholders that the concerns raised during the engagements would form part of his considerations as he develops his governance agenda.
Adekanmbi also met with APM leaders, stakeholders and members in both local government areas, where he commended them for their commitment to the party and urged them to sustain their mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He further called on party members to work towards securing support for all APM candidates across the state.
Adekanmbi said his engagements were aimed at promoting people-centred governance by ensuring that the views and needs of communities are properly understood and reflected in the development agenda of his proposed administration.
He added that the feedback gathered from stakeholders across Olorunsogo and Irepo would contribute to his understanding of the specific challenges facing the communities and the broader development needs of Oyo State.
