Elder Mathew Abioye Going To APC : We’ill Miss His Arrogant, Disloyalty – Ogo Oluwa PDP Leaders
Hon Mathew Adegboyega Abioye, a chieftain of People Democratic Party from Ogo-oluwa local government Area of Oyo State has been confirmed to had finalised his defection to All Progressive Congress ( APC ) after several meetings with Senator Buhari, Oyo North senator.
A rumour which later confirmed to be truth is the defection of
Hon Mathew Adegboyega Abioye, a
two-term Oyo state House of Assembly member and Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere federal House of Representatives candidate in 2019 general elections.
Westerndailynews learnt that, Hon Mathew has been romancing with opposition party immediately after losing the House of Representatives election.
Speaking to some of the party leaders in the federal constituency, it was made known that Hon Mathew Adegboyega Abioye arrogant and intolerant made the party to loose the constituency election which later affected their state assembly candidate.
A party leader from Iwo Ate, Ogo-Oluwa local government ( name withheld ) said it is no longer news that Hon. Mathew has finalised the preparation for his defection back to APC, but since he had not announced, they can’t count him out of PDP, opined that, all knows he had already gone.
” We heard he had met Sen. Fatai Buhari and they had reached an agreement, we saw the photographs of their last meeting, and got the details of the meeting too.
His defection is not a surprise, it long overdue, his body language
since after the 2019 election had shown he will go back to APC.
” Our party could have won the presidential, senatorial and House of Representatives elections in Ogo-Oluwa and Surulere but his pride and self-centeredness cost us the victory. He didn’t spent the mobilization money giving to him, as a candidate, he has no plan for the election day, he went straight to his house and with his family to sleep after he voted, he even switched of is phone, his line was not reachable for almost 48 hours.
” When he rejected the appointment given to him by governor Makinde, one of his loyalists told one of our party leaders in Surulere that, he intentionally used the appointment rejection to disgraced governor Seyi Makinde, said his can only accept a post of commissioner from the governor.
Also affirming the defection process of Hon. Mathew, a party chieftain from Surulere who pleaded for anonymity said, he has also confirmed from his APC friend in Ognomoso South local government that, Hon. Mathew had joined their party, just waiting for his official declaration.
” The information you want to get from me is true, I also confirmed it from an opposition friend from Ogbomoso South, he said Hon. Mathew and some leaders had met and he his coming back to APC with his loyalists soonest”.
” From a reliable source, we confirmed that party leaders like : Mr Dosu Akanbi, Adeniran Olugbade , Asa Abel, Salami Lateef and a host of others are also going with Hon. Mathew to APC.
When asked if there were some people who are trying to force Hon. Mathew Adegboyega Abioye out of the PDP, the party chieftain from Surulere said no, but can’t rule out political power tussles with him and some political heavy weights in their party.
” Hon. Mathew is one of the party leaders and chieftains in Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere but he feels too much important , he is seeing himself as a leader who deserved the largest shares of every dividends. We heard he berated governor Makinde when giving him an appointment, he rejected it, said governor shows his political immature and incompetence to had
belittled him with a small appointment.
” Aside rejecting the appointment, he was also heard castigating the caretaker Chairmen of Ogo-Oluwa for not carrying him along in all the local government activities. There was a time Hon. Mathew expressed his displeasure on the effort of the council chairman Hon. Seun Ojo trying to woo opposition to PDP. He also accused him of not taking care of his own ( Hon. Mathew ) loyalists but only channels what suppose to the benefits of their people in the party to people living in the local government. He also complained that, Hon. Ojo too much focuses on youths, traditional rulers and some party leaders, party chieftain stated.
