The Oyo State governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi, has taken his ongoing consultative engagements to Oorelope, Saki East and Atisbo Local Government Areas, where he met with traditional rulers, religious leaders, traders, artisans, transport workers, civil servants, community leaders and party members.
According to Adekanmbi, he explained that the consultations were designed to provide an avenue for stakeholders to directly communicate their peculiar needs and expectations, stressing that the exercise would complement the broad development agenda contained in his proposed manifesto.
At the various meetings, stakeholders commended the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde for its interventions in infrastructure and workers’ welfare, while urging Adekanmbi to sustain and build on such initiatives if elected governor in 2027.

The stakeholders, however, urged Adekanmbi to sustain and build on the existing development efforts if elected governor, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, workers’ welfare and pensioners’ welfare.
Among the major requests presented during the consultations were the construction and rehabilitation of major and inner-town roads, establishment of higher institutions to stimulate economic activities, and the establishment of a police college in the zone.
The stakeholders also called for the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre, upgrading of healthcare and maternity facilities, strengthening of the security architecture, improved welfare packages for traditional rulers and enhanced welfare for civil servants.
Adekanmbi, while responding to the concerns raised, thanked the traditional rulers, religious leaders, community stakeholders and residents for their candid feedback and support.
He said the purpose of the consultation was to listen directly to the people and gain a better understanding of the peculiar needs of different communities across the state.
The governorship candidate also met with APM leaders and members in the three local government areas, commending them for their commitment and dedication to the party.
He urged the party members to remain steadfast and committed to the party’s activities, assuring them that an APM administration under his leadership would prioritise good governance and equitable development across Oyo State.
Adekanmbi said he remained committed to ensuring that the concerns and aspirations of residents across the state’s zones were reflected in his administration’s development agenda if elected in 2027.
