Oyo Youth Parliament Decries Illegal Dissolution Of State Youth Parliament

0

The attention of the 2nd Assembly of Oyo State Youth Parliament has been drawn to the luciferous letters sent by one Mr Fadeyi to members of the parliament, announcing the decision of the state to dissolve the parliament.

We hereby condemn in its totality, this arrogance exhibited by the commissioner, to arrogate powers that do not belong to his office to himself. We want to state it categorically that the parliament was properly constituted, and there is no provision in the framework for dissolution of the parliament, safe the tenure has been served.
It is more annoying that the commissioner, through the agency would stoop so low, to announce the dissolution of the parliament via social media.

We want to bring it to the notice of the general public that members of the parliament met with the commissioner few weeks ago, where issues were clarified. At the said meeting, Mr Seun Fakorede, promised to convene another meeting to inform members of the parliament on whatever decision the state arrives at, after he would have consult UNFPA, NYSC, NOA and other bodies that are provided by the framework to be part of the selection process.

We challenge Mr Fakorede to show the world the correspondence that occurred between his office and those stated organizations before arriving at this satanic decision, which will not see the light of the day.

We hereby call on the Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, members of the House of Assembly, ably led by Rt Hon Ogundoyin Adebo, and all lovers of democracy to call Mr Fakorede to order.
