Covid-19: To Prevent Pandemic, OYRTMA Distributes 10,000 Face Masks To Transporters In Oyo

The Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority (OYRTMA) has today distributed over 10,000 pieces of face masks to commercial transporters drawn across the 33 local government areas of the State.

Addressing newsmen shortly after the distribution exercise at the OYRTMA Operational Headquaters, Sanyo, Ibadan, the Executive Chairman, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi said, “inline with the State Government’s drive to stopping the continuous spread of the novel coronavirus disease, the Authority, in its ingenuity to support the Executive Governor, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde’s effort, produced these nose masks free of charge for the use of our commercial drivers and riders across the State”.

He further revealed that “It is our sincere hope that this would be an effective measure to drastically zero down covid-19 cases in the State as it is our own way of giving back to the good people of the State at this difficult time particularly members of the organized commercial transporters’ associations including the Road Transport Employee Association of Nigeria (RTEAN), Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association (ACCOMORAN), Motorcycle and Tricycle Operators Association of Nigeria (MOTOAN), Tricycle Owners Association of Nigeria (TOAN), Motorcycle Transport Union of Nigeria (MTUN) and others .”, Dr. Fagbemi concluded.

It is worthy to note that the face masks were distributed free of charge to the beneficiaries.
