Rewards of being a party man: Obanikoro, Wife, Son Recover N500m Houses, Land From EFCC
The defection of Musiliu Obanikoro ex minister from People Democratic Party ( PDP ) to All Progressive Congress ( PDP ) a year ago is yielding results as Obanikoro, his wife and children had recovered three properties worth about N500m from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,
It will be recalled the ex minister two years ago was under investigation along with his two sons for alleged money laundering while still under the umbrella of PDP.
The ex-minister was accused of receiving N4.7bn from the Office of the National Security Adviser under the leadership of Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.) in 2014.
About N2.2bn out of the funds was allegedly handed over to the then governorship candidate of the PDP in Ekiti State, Governor Ayodele Fayose, while N1.3bn was said to have been given to the then Osun State governorship candidate, Senator Iyiola Omisore.
Also, with reward for joining the rulling party, Obanikoro Son, Babaji Obanikoro is also contest the under All Progressive Party for Eti – Osa Federal House of Representives seats in Lagos state
Nigeria crush Equatorial Guinea 6-0 to seal semifinal spot
Nigeria’s Super Falcons reached the semifinals of the 2018 CAF Africa Women’s Cup of Nations on Saturday. China-based Asisat Oshoala netted a hat trick in the first stanza to see Nigeria lead 4-0 at interval – Desire Oparanozie, Francisca Ordega and Rita Chikwelu were the other goalscorers on the night.
Asisat Oshoala netted a hat-trick as Nigeria’s Super Falcons qualified for the semifinals of the 2018 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) on Saturday, November 24, with a 6-0 victory over Equatorial Guinea at the Cape Coast Stadium. The encounter saw US-based Francisca Ordega score the opener on the ten minute mark with a fanatic side footed finish that saw the ball pass through the goalkeeper’s leg. Moments later Asisat Oshoala netted Nigeria’s second off Desire Oparanozie cross on the 13th minute.
The China-based Oshoala was in hand to score her second and Nigeria’s third of the match on the 30th minute coming after missed a sitter from close range. On the 34th the Oshoala completed her hat trick and the Falcons fourth goal off another assist from Oparanozie.
At the end of the first stanza Nigeria lead 4-0. And in the second stanza, Oparanozie turned from provider to scorer when she scored on the 48th minute off a pass by Francisca Ordega. Captain of the Rita Chikwelu ensured her name was also on the score sheet when she netted with 27 minutes courtesy of an assist from substitute Amarachi Okoronkwo.
At the blast of the final whistle Nigeria claimed a commanding 6-0 win over Equatorial Guinea to seal a semifinal spot. The Super Falcons will now turn their focus on neighbours Cameroon who they face in a top-of-the-table clash on Tuesday, November 27.
