Reopening Of Schools, Religious Houses In Oyo Is Deliberation To Kill – Bayo Adelabu

Governorship candidate for 2019 general election, Chief Bayo Adelabu has criticised Oyo state government for decision made to reopen schools and religious houses, described the action as a deliberate attempt to expose Oyo state residents to the infectious disease.

Adelabu made it public that his children will not resume school if eventually schools in the state resume for learning admist coronavirus pandemic.

Bayo Adelabu on a radio programme in Ibadan on Saturday advised governor Makinde not to be in a rush to reopen schools, said the state will record much cases if done so.

He lamented on government inability to enforce social distancing and other measures put in place to curb the spread of the virus, including orientation and enlightenment of residents on spread of Covid-19, said it is absurd for Oyo govt to indicated plans to reopen activities that encourage mass gatherings without actively involved in moves to cure the pandemic.

” if our children can stayed home for a year to avoid contracting the virus they dont have anything to lose, but it risky exposing all of us to the pandemic, the kids can contract COVID-19 in school and will easily transmit it to parents at homes.

” opening Schools, Churches, Mosques is deliberate to Kill, even Pastor Adeboye of redeemed church said if government opens churches, his family members will not attend’ Adelabu stated.

Chief Adebayo Adelabu was the closest political rival of governor Makinde during 2019 oyo state governorship election.
