Oyo Workers Cross Over To 2023 With Smiles As Makinde Drops 13th-month Salaries

The Oyo state workers have since yesterday been in a joyous mood when they started receiving a second salary for December.

Thou, not compulsory, but Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration sees it as mandatory and has on Friday started to pay the workers 13th-month salaries before January 2023 first hour.

It will be recalled how Governor Makinde’s administration, on resumption in May 2019, paid workers salaries despite the dwindling economy in the country and since then not failed on paying the Workers salaries including constituency on payment of 13th-month salaries every ending of December.

According to the Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun in a statement, he said: “One of the successes of the Seyi Makinde-led government is the uninterrupted payment of staff salaries”,

“Recall that, Governor Seyi Makinde has stayed committed to uninterrupted payment of salaries and 13th-month bonus since he became Governor”, Olatubosun said.
