Ido LG Begins Harvest Of First Phase Of Farm Produce
After several months of cultivation, the Ido local government under the chairman of Hon. Sheriff Adeojo has began harvesting its farm produce.
This initiative marks a pivotal moment in the local government’s efforts to promote agricultural development and create sustainable opportunities for local farmers and residents as well as complementing the unrelenting effort of governor Makinde’s efforts on state agriculture.
The establishment of the farm was one of the flagship projects of Hon. Adeojo’s administration, aimed at leveraging the fertile lands within Ido Local Government to drive food production and contribute to the economic empowerment of the community.
The first phase of the harvest is expected to yield a substantial quantity of yams, which will be distributed and sold locally to support the community and reinvest in further agricultural projects.
Hon. Adeojo expressed his satisfaction with the progress made so far and reiterated his administration’s commitment to revitalizing the agricultural sector in Ido. He highlighted that the farm, which has been developed in phases, will serve as a model for other local government areas in the state, showcasing the potential of community-driven agricultural initiatives to boost local economies and reduce food scarcity.
“This first phase of our yam harvest is a testament to what we can achieve when we prioritize agriculture and invest in our resources. Ido Local Government is blessed with vast agricultural potential, and my administration is determined to unlock this potential for the benefit of our people. This project is not just about farming—it’s about job creation, food security, and community development,” Hon. Adeojo stated.
Adeojo urged Ido local government residents to engage in agriculture, assuring them of continued support from the local government in terms of access to farm inputs, technical assistance, and marketing of produce.
With the successful commencement of the first phase of yam harvesting, Hon. Adeojo’s administration is poised to set new standards in local governance and community-driven agricultural development, positioning Ido Local Government as a key player in Oyo State’s agricultural sector.
