Ibadan Indigenes Kick Off Cultural Festival with Jumat Service
The executives and members of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, CCII, have been advised to continue to work towards the progress and development of Oyo state and Ibadanland.
Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Alhaji Abdulganyy Agbotomekere stated this during a Jumat service marking the commencement of the annual Ibadan Cultural Festival and Award Ceremony of the CCII at the Ibadan Central Mosque at Oja-Oba, Ibadan.
Alhaji Agbotomokekere explained that the progress recorded by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes was as a result of the exemplary leadership styles of past leaders of the council.
In an interview, the President General, CCII, Chief Yemi Soladoye said the special Jumat service was observed to give thank to Allah for his protection and achievement of CCII over the past one year.
Chief Soladoye said CCII would continue to initiate programmes that would facilitate the development of the state.
Other events marking the CCII 2019 Cultural Week continue tomorrow with visit to the Olubadan-in-Council at Popoyemoja, Palace of Olubadan of Ibadanland.
