He said, in a democratic system of government where the practice of picking candidates through consensus strive, aspirants jostling for the same office should unanimously agree to the mandate of anyone chosen as the flagbearer of the party.
The PDP scribe who further explained that, consensus arrangement should allow aspirants to sign a pact in agreement that the mandate of their followers have been traded for the interest of the party, which he alleged did not play out.
Barrister Aborisade said it was unfair and unjust that some group of people claimed to pick candidates through consensus without the consent of other aspirants who are major stakeholders in the process.
“If there must be any consensus, there must be unanimous decision, there must be an agreement by the aspirants and where there is no agreement, then, there is no consensus” He said.
