The leadership of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State has declared its total support for Hon. Adedamola Olajide, popularly known as “Elegant,” as the party’s authentic chairmanship candidate for the forthcoming local government election.
The party leaders, comprising members of the local government executive and chairmen of the party’s 10 wards, said Olajide emerged through the duly conducted APM primary election in Ido Local Government, describing him as the legitimate candidate of the party.
The support declaration was led by a member of the state executive, Kamorudeen Ajigbotolorun, alongside the Ido Local Government APM Chairman, Alhaji Nasiru Oladokun; the party’s Secretary, Prince Tayo Rotimi; and all ward chairmen from Wards 1 to 10.
The party leaders maintained that the decision was reached in the interest of unity, stability and the progress of the APM in Ido Local Government.
They urged party members, supporters and the general public to disregard any individual or group parading themselves as the authentic APM chairmanship candidate or representatives of the party without proper authorisation.
The leaders further warned against impersonation, stressing that the party would not tolerate any attempt to mislead the public or undermine the candidate who emerged from the party’s primary election.
They reaffirmed their commitment to working collectively for the success of Olajide and other APM candidates in the forthcoming local government election.
