The Social Democratic Party candidate for the Oluyole state constituency, Hon. Saheed Abiola Oyewale says his victory in the 2023 general election if given the mandate would bring greater prospects for women in his constituency.
The aspiring House of Assembly lawmaker made this known during an interactive session with women in Oluyole local government.
Hon. Oyewale, one of the leading candidates for the Assembly seat in Oluyole described women as the salt of the home, adding that without women, society would go blank and become meaningless.
The SDP Assembly Candidate had last week in a round table also addressed Women of his constituents, describing women as an important part of the society performing various roles in the household, therefore need support for their well-being and daily activities.
” Our women need more support and encouragement, women development is one of the reasons I want to be in government or high time you women enjoyed the full dividend of democracy, aside from empowerment, there is also a certain quota of positions reserved for Women in government, if elected I promise to be an advocate for Women Development.
” I am here in your midst today, if elected I will be at the forefront of Women’s Developmental Bills and Motions, not only that, with collaboration with other lawmakers, I will spearhead the enactment of the state’s existing laws on gender equality.
For Women of my constituency, I’ll provide loans for them, not Heart dissolving loans, not
the one that will put them in debt but an easy loan that will elevate their businesses.
” I will also provide jobs for the youths of Oluyole, although not all youths will benefit from the opportunity, some will have access to viable and sustainable empowerment schemes
Thereafter, the aspiring lawmaker begged the women of Oluyole to cast their vote wisely and advise their respective families to do the same and the involvement in politics is highly important.
