The Oyo State Governor Engr Seyi has renamed the Saki township road in honour of a late political icon of the state, Chief Michael Koleosho.
Governor Makinde who made this public at the funeral service held in honor of the deceased at the Ajegunle Baptist Church, Saki also announced that he would soon sign into law the bill that renames the Oke Ogun Polytechnic Saki, to Michael Koleosho Polytechnic Saki.
While describing the former National Chairman of the Alliance for Democracy, Chief Koleosho as a selfless politician who wanted the best for the people of the state, Governor Makinde assured that other projects that includes the refurbishment and relaunch of Technical College Saki, Technical College Ibadan and rehabilitation of Saki -Ogboro- Igboho, Igbeti Igbope with a spur to Agbonle would be done in his honour.
The Governor also put smiles in the faces of the members of the Ajegunle Baptist Church as he pledged to make a personal donation of a power Generating Set and Bus to the Church, all in the name of Chief Koleosho.
Delivering his message, the president of Nigeria, Senator Bola Tinubu represented by the Executive Chairman, Federal Inland Revenue, Dr Zaccheus Adedeji, who described the late Chief Michael Koleosho as an epitome of hard work and humility pledged that the federal government would support Koleosho’s family in whatever way they want to immortalize their beloved father.
On the entourage of the governor were Deputy Governor of the state, Barrister Bayo Lawal and his wife Mrs Ajibola Lawal, PDP Deputy National Chairman, (South), and former Deputy Governor of the state, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, some former State Deputy Governors, the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Iyabo Yerima represented by Justice M.O Ishola among others.
