Oyo Govt, Will Continue To Empower Women, Youths In Agriculture – Adeosun

The Oyo State Government, through the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun has said that the present administration in the State would continue to empower women and youth in Agriculture, hinting that, everybody can not have a white collar job.

 

She stated this while receiving the International Fertilizer Development Center (IFDC) and its consortium partners led by the First Secretary Food Security and Climate, Mariska Lammeks at the SSG’s Conference Room, Secretariat, Ibadan.

 

The Secretary to the State Government said the four year horticulture sector development program funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands is in line with the State Government Agriculture programs.

 

She said. “when we came on board, we are very clear about the priority sector we will pursue towards achieving aims and objectives in Health, Education, Security and expanded Economy primarily through Agri-business.”

 

She continued “what you want to offer us in Oyo State is in line with our programmes in Agriculture, and we are making progress

 

She said Governor Seyi Makinde is very interested in Agriculture and Food Security, adding that, the State Government would monitor the progress of the programme.

 

In her remark, the First Secretary Food Security and Climate (Netherlands Embassy) Marriska Lammeks expressed her organisation readiness to collaborate with the State Government to empower women and youth in Agriculture.
