An Ido State Constituency Assembly hopeful, Hon. Adedamola Olajide, popularly known as Elegant, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Elegant disclosed this in a resignation letter addressed to the PDP Chairman of Ward 7 in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The Supervisory Councillor for Works stated that his resignation takes immediate effect.
“I hereby tender my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), effective immediatelyly,” he stated.
According to him, the decision was informed by concerns over the direction of the party, alleging that its structure had been taken over in a manner inconsistent with its founding principles, resulting in factional leadership within the party.
He explained that after wide consultations with his family, political associates, and supporters, he concluded that his political future, as well as the interests of his constituents, would be better served outside the PDP.
Elegantly representing Ward 7 as
Supervisory Councillor in the local government further noted that his constituents deserve a political platform that adequately protects their interests and advances their long-term aspirations.
Elegant also expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the PDP for the opportunity given to him to serve under the platform, adding that he remains grateful for the experience and support received during his time in the party.
