Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has selected Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi and Hon. Stanley Olajide, popularly known as Odidi-Omo, as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidates for Oyo Central and Oyo South, respectively.
The announcement, which emerged on Wednesday, signals the governor’s strategic move ahead of forthcoming electoral contests, as the party consolidates its position across key senatorial districts in the state.
Ambassador Ajadi is expected to fly the PDP flag in Oyo Central, while Hon. Olajide, a serving member of the House of Representatives, will contest the Oyo South senatorial seat.
Political observers note that the selections reflect a blend of experience and grassroots appeal, positioning the PDP for a competitive outing in the senatorial races.
