Ib’ Northeast Chair, Akintayo Begins Second Term With Free Medical Outreach for Older Residents
Ibadan Northeast local government chairman, Hon. Hon Ibrahim Akintayo has organized a day medical outreach program for older people.
Akintayo who was sworn in for second term as executive chairman of Ibadan Northeast local government began his new administration with promise fulfilment.
The free medical program included checks for blood pressure, sugar levels, urine tests, tuberculosis tests, treatment of minor ailments, and distribution of drugs.
At the program, the returned ouncil chairman expressed his commitment to the well-being of the elderly, acknowledging their valuable contributions to the community.
He emphasized the importance of the good health of the aged within the council area, stating that the council will continue to organize such programs regularly.
According to Akintayo, healthcare plays a crucial role in democracy because it takes healthy citizens and residents to make a well-informed choice of who they want to continue to gove.
The organized free healthcare witnessed a large turnout of individuals and groups which includes, members of the traditional council, National Council of Women Society (NCWS), Community Development Council (CDC), market and religious bodies, pensioners, and legion members among others.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the council for the “wonderful program” and prayed for the continued progress of the council.
