The Egbeda Local Government has been thrown into mourning following the death of Deacon Omoniyi Adegbite, the Special Assistant on Transport to the Executive Chairman of the council.
Until his death, Adegbite was widely regarded as a committed, loyal and dedicated public servant whose contributions to the growth of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the development of Egbeda Local Government and the transportation sector earned him widespread recognition.
Tributes from political associates and colleagues, posted on the council’s official political WhatsApp page, described the late Deacon as a committed leader, a grassroots mobiliser, and a true patriot who served the people with unwavering dedication and integrity.
They noted that Deacon’s years of service were characterised by selflessness, hard work and a deep commitment to public service, adding that he remained steadfast in advancing the programmes and policies of the local government.
According to the tributes, his humility, diligence and unwavering commitment to duty earned him the respect, admiration and confidence of colleagues, political associates and residents alike.
They further stated that his contributions to the PDP and the development of the council area would remain indelible, describing his passing as a painful loss to the party, the local government and the entire Egbeda community.
Adegbite is survived by family members, political associates and admirers who have continued to pay glowing tributes to his life of service and dedication to humanity.
