APC Chieftain Afolabi Osunlana Mourns Death of Oloye Lekan Alabi


A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibadan North Local Government and Convener of Humanity First – Iyanu Ti Shele, Hon. Afolabi Emmanuel Osunlana, has joined the people of Ibadanland in mourning the death of the Abese Olubadan of Ibadanland and senior chief, Oloye Lekan Alabi.
Oloye Alabi, the Abese Olubadan of Ibadanland, reportedly died on Saturday morning in Lagos at the age of 76 after a distinguished career in journalism, public service and traditional leadership.

In a condolence message, Osunlana, who contested the recently concluded APC primary election for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency House of Representatives ticket, described the late Oloye Lekan Alabi as a proud and highly respected son of Ibadan whose contributions to the promotion of the city’s rich history and cultural heritage would remain unforgettable.
He noted that the deceased was a remarkable statesman, accomplished journalist and custodian of Ibadan’s traditions, whose wealth of knowledge and commitment to the progress of Ibadanland earned him admiration across political, cultural and social circles.
Osunlana expressed his heartfelt condolences to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, the Olubadan-in-Council, the Alabi family, and the entire people of Ibadanland over the irreparable loss.

He prayed that God grants the deceased eternal rest and gives his family, associates and the people of Ibadan the strength to bear the loss
