Hon. Adedeji Empowers Egbeda Ward 3 Residents With Over N1m Eid Support


Councilor representing Ward 3 of Egbeda Local Government Area of Oyo State, Hon. Saheed Akanmu Adedeji, has empowered residents of the ward, with cash gifts totaling over N1 million as empowerment and as part of activities marking the Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
The programme took place during the Ward 3 Owobale/Kasumu meeting held on Saturday, May 24, 2026, amid excitement and appreciation from party leaders and members.

The meeting commenced with a minute of silence and prayers in honour of the immediate past councillor of the ward, the late Hon. Tunde Afefe.
Speaking at the event, Adedeji said the welfare of the people remained a priority to him, stressing that the cash support was aimed at enabling beneficiaries to celebrate the festive season in comfort and happiness.
He appreciated party leaders and members for their continued support, particularly acknowledging the Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sikiru Oyedele Sanda, and Hon. Busari Olayemi, popularly known as “Kobomoje,” for allowing him to serve the people.
Adedeji also urged members to continue supporting the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde and Hon. Sanda through prayers and loyalty.

According to him, his commitment to community service and empowerment was inspired by the leadership style of the council chairman, whom he described as a leader deserving total loyalty and support.
Representing the Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sola Olakanmi commended Ward 3 residents for their massive and unwavering support for Hon. Sikiru Sanda’s administration.
He assured residents of more developmental projects in the ward and announced a donation of N100,000 from Hon. Sanda to support the gathering.
Several beneficiaries who spoke during the event expressed gratitude to Adedeji, describing him as compassionate, humble, and committed to the well-being of the people.
They noted that the gesture was not the first of its kind from the politician and prayed for greater success and blessings for him.
Also speaking, the widow of the late former councillor, Mrs. Tunde Afefe, appreciated Hon. Sanda and Adedeji for their support since the demise of her husband, noting that she was also among the beneficiaries of the empowerment programme.
Dignitaries at the event included the Vice Chairman of the party, Chief Liadi Babafoto; Chairman of Chairmen in Egbeda Local Government and Chairman of Ward 7, Prince Samson; Pastor Mayowa; and the party’s Local Government Youth Leader, Mr. Oderinlo, among others.
The event further strengthened the relationship between Adedeji and party members in Ward 3, as attendees described the empowerment initiative as timely and impactful.
