Justice M.L .Owolabi of the state high court of Oyo state has stopped Mr. Muili Oluwole Oladejo of Agbon Onilabu compound from parading himself as Mogaji, the head of the family.
Muili Oladejo was installed as Mogaji Agbon Onilabu compound by Olubadan of Ibadanland, HIM Oba (Dr) Moshood Olalekan Balogun and the Olubadan-in-Council, on the 17th December 2022, while a case challenging the process of appointment is still on hearing by the law court.
While delivering the ruling, Justice M.L . Owolabi described the Olubadan and his council’s action as extremely nasty, and cruel, therefore restraining the Oba and his chief from recognizing Muili Oladejo as a chieftaincy title holder in Ibadan.
THE RULING OF THE HIGH COURT OF JUSTICE, IBADAN, OYO STATE DATED 23RD FEBRUARY, 2023
The Court held that “the appointment and installation of Mr. Muili Oluwole Oladejo by HIM Oba (Dr) Moshood Olalekan Balogun (the Oulbadan of Ibadan and the Olubadan-in-Council, as the Mogaji of
Agbon Onilabu Family on the 17th December 2022, during the pendency of the case in the Suit No I/1152/2022 is a despicable
conduct and appalling.
It is an act of a brazen act of disrespect and disregard for the Processes of the Court and a slap in the face of the Court. Based on the foregoing, I hereby set aside the appointment and installation of Mr. Muili Oluwole Oladejo by the Olubadan of Ibadan Land and Olubadan-in-Council on 17th December 2022 as the Mogaji of Agbon Onilabu family which was done with utter disregard to the processes of this Court.
Consequently, an Order is hereby made restraining the Olubadan of Ibadan Land and Olubadan-in-Council from appointing, installing, and/or recognizing Mr. Muili Oluwole Oladejo as the Mogaji of Agbon Onilabu family pending the hearing and determination of this suit.
