Oyo’s COVID-19 Spread Worsens As State Records 56 New Cases, Total Nearing 700
Oyo has recorded 56 new cases of Coronavirus, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced on Wednesday night.
According to official tweeter account of the Nigerian Centre for Disease and Control ( NCDC ), Oyo state infectious cases had reached 661 after recorded 56 new cases.
Presently, Oyo is managing 372 confirmed cases with 280 discharged persons after confirmation of their second negative tests. Nine infected Covid-19 patients have reportedly dead out of 661 confirmed cases. Also, out of the confirmed cases, the state received and admitted two cases from other states with two also transferred out of the state based on patients request.
Meanwhile, The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in the same tweet stated that the country has now confirmed at least 17,735 cases of the novel coronavirus with 469 deaths and 5,967 recovered patients.
Nigeria is currently in the second phase of easing its lockdown restrictions, with worship centres expected to restart in certain states
In total, there are now 17,735 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 5,967 patients discharged and 469 deaths.
