WAEC Withholds Results of Two Oyo Schools Over Alleged Examination Malpractice

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has withheld the results of two secondary schools in Oyo State over alleged examination malpractice during the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates.
The affected schools are Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Ibadan, and Oxford College, Ibadan.

The development followed WAEC’s decision to withhold the results of 50 schools across Nigeria over suspected involvement in various forms of examination malpractice during the conduct of the 2026 WASSCE.

According to the examination body, the affected schools are currently under investigation, and the withheld results will remain pending until the conclusion of the review process in line with its established procedures for handling examination malpractice cases.
The Council reiterated its commitment to preserving the credibility and integrity of its examinations, stressing that all reported cases of malpractice would be thoroughly investigated before any final decisions are taken.

Candidates of the affected schools are expected to await the outcome of the investigations, which will determine whether the withheld results will be released or appropriate sanctions imposed in accordance with WAEC’s regulations.
