………. Says Ibadan elders kicked against Portable performing in Ibadan
Mc-Bokujaka, the Ibadan Fuji Artist, Taye Akande Adebisi Currency’s Media Manager has made some explanations to make fans and the general public understand the ongoing issue about the Taye Currency Live In Concert event, staged on January 2nd, 2025 in Ibadan, which involved the controversial hip-hop Artist, Habeeb Okikiola also known as Portable.
Mc-Bokujaka, in his explanation, urged all Taye Currency fans all over the world and people of Ibadan to disregard Portable’s accusation against his boss, said Taye Currency neither called Portable to perform in the Concert nor transferred 1 million nairas to the Ogun State-born musician.
He said the show was not organized by Taye currency, and he was also invited to perform as a guest artist with Portable alongside others.
“ For all of you commenting, posting, dragging me online after Portable rant on social media when he was unable to perform at the organized concert, claiming that Taye Currency paid him just 1m out of 5m he charged, so it was the reason why he doesn’t come to the Concert. First of all, have you found out the reason why I did not post or advertise the concert, on my social media handles before and after the concert?
“The Concert doesn’t belong to Taye Currency; go and check the name on the flier; it is “Jarule Entertainment & Twinlightrecord PRESENT Taye Currency in Live Concert”. Such an arrangement happens in the Music Industry; I can also use my brand, Professional Talkative, to present an artist.
“Concerning Portable rants, everybody is supposed to know that Portable is in pain because the organizer of the event canceled his performance; they asked him not to border to come to Ibadan to perform in the Concert again. If Taye Currency’s name can’t bring Portable to Ibadan, then when is it likely for him to come to Ibadan for a show?
In Portable’s recent video that went viral on the internet, Portable accused the Ibadan people of being misers; if everyone is saying Taye Currency is a Miser, it shouldn’t be coming out from Portable’s mouth.
” Before Portable became a well-known artist, Kogbagidi took him to Taye Currency house, where he was given money; two to three months ago, Portable met Taye Currency in Ore, or so he still gave him a lot of cash.
“ Let Portable come out to present proof of payment that it was Taye Currency that paid him the N1m. Let him come out to give us the records of the calls made to him for the event to show that it was Taye Currency that called him for the event.
” How could Taye Currency be thinking of using Portable to pull crowed in Ibadan, his territory?
” I called the attention of Taye Currency to the choice of Portable coming to Ibadan to perform alongside him in the concert; I gave him many reasons why it may affect the Concert as well as his wide popularity in Ibadan. It was when Taye Currency was leaving Sablak Event Centre, where he went to perform, heading to the live Concert, that he called me to say that I was right about Portable coming to Ibadan; Taye Currency said that Ibadan Elders just called him on the phone expressing their displeasure about Portable coming to Ibadan to Ibadan. Ibadan elders claimed it would be a slap on Ibadanland if Portable entered the city to perform after all the embarrassment given to Ibadan on social media. It was the reaction of the Ibadan elders that made Taye Currency call the Live Concert organizers to inform Portable not to border to come for the Concert and still tell the organizers to quote him to Portable if he should ask who asked him not to come”.
Mc-Bokujaka said Taye Currency insisted that either Portable missed the Live Concert and he ( Taye Currency ) present or Portable present and he ( Taye Currency ) missed the concert. Mc-Bokujaka explained that his boss got to the show some minutes after midnight when it was agreed that Portable would not attend the show. He said people believing Portable are not intelligent.
