Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan will kick start their quest for a return to the premier league this Sunday as they play host to Go Round FC of Omoku.

Apart from aiming at the maximum points, to put their campaign on a firm start, the Oluyole Warriors are gunning for victory to break a two season jinx.

The Ibadan soccer lords, have failed to win their opening home matches in the last two seasons, drawing 0-0 against Insurance in 2017/18 season opener and were held 1-1by Abia Comets in the 2018/19 season first match.

This Sunday at the Lekan Salami Stadium, 3SC will be up against Go Round, who just got demoted from the NPFL last season and the players have vowed to stop the winless trend from repeating itself.

“We know the expectation of our people is high. We know His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde wants a good result. We know we cannot afford to disappoint the good people of Oyo state and the entire lovers of this club.

“Therefore, we have resolved to give it what it takes by winning this match, to start our campaign on a positive note and to break that jinx of not winning our first home game”, declared the captain of rhe team, Waheed Omololu.

Coach Edith Agoye is expected to unleash a strong side on the visitors from Rivers State with a view to picking the maximum points.

“We aim at nothing but victory on Sunday, we have prepared well enough for the season, all we need is the full support and prayers of our fans,”, said coach Agoye.
