Oyo Records 3 New Cases, As Makinde Urges Residents With Covid-19 Symptoms To Go For Test

Three new persons have reportedly tested positive in Oyo state.

Out of the three new cases, two are from Orire local government while the remaining one is from Oluyole local government area of the state.

According to governor Seyi Makinde, he made the confirmation of the three positive cases during his Oyo State Covid-19 Task Force update for May 15th, 2020. He also announced the discharged of 11 Covid-19 patients who have been tested negative twice after weeks of treatments.

” Eleven confirmed COVID-19 patients at the Infectious Disease Centre, Olodo, have received their second NEGATIVE test results and have been discharged. This brings the number of discharged cases in Oyo State to twenty-eight.

” Also, the COVID-19 confirmation tests for three suspected cases came back POSITIVE. Two cases are from Oriire Local Government Area and one is from Oluyole Local Government Area. So, the total number of confirmed cases in Oyo State as at 8 PM today ( Friday ), is seventy-six.

Makinde urged the following state residents ; People who believed they could have come in contact with a COVID-19 case in Oyo State, People with COVID-19 symptoms: cough, fever, tiredness, body ache and shortness of breath, People with respiratory disease symptoms and Healthcare workers who have been in contact with the high-risk groups to register with the Emergency Operations Centre on 08095394000, 08095863000, 08078288999, 08078288800, for the ongoing drive-through/walk-through testing at Adamasingba Stadium if they have not already done the Covid-19 test.
