There was wide jubilation in Ibarapa North local government area as Hon. Lateef Akorede clinched the People Democratic Party, PDP, chairmanship ticket for the forthcoming local government election.
Akorede who is currently the Supervisor for Education Ibarapa North Local Government was declared winner in the election conducted on Monday.
In a statement released by the local government returning officer, Alhaji Nasiru Adepoju, he said Hon Lateef Akorede polled 145 votes to defeat the incumbent Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Iliasu Ololade who polled 12 votes.
With this, he’s expected to flag the party’s ticket in the election coming up in May.
