Media Guru, Saheed Alatise a.k.a Oba Irawo launches Media Academy in Ibadan


A new hub for storytellers officially opened its doors today as the _Real Talent Media Academy_ launched in Ibadan, promising to train the next generation of African journalists, filmmakers, and digital creators.
The launch, held at the Gilgal Event Hall, Bolatito bus stop along Ologuneru Road, Ibadan, drew media executives, policymakers, and young creatives from across the country. Founder and veteran broadcaster SAHEED ALATISE a.k.a Oba Irawo said the academy will offer intensive programs in investigative reporting, documentary production, podcasting, and AI-driven content creation.

“We’re building a pipeline of ethical, skilled storytellers who can compete globally but tell African stories authentically,” ALATISE told attendees. “The industry is changing fast. Our students won’t just keep up, they’ll lead.”
The highlight of the evening was the inaugural _Real Talent Media Impact Awards_, recognizing ten outstanding people in society. Each awardee received a plaque and a laudable ovation.

A Veteran Broadcaster Alhaji Lekan Jeariogbe, who presented most of the awards, called the academy “a timely investment in truth and talent.”

The academy begins its first 12-week cohort in June, with 60% of seats reserved for women and applicants from underserved communities.
