Kabiesi Lived A Fulfilled Life – Repete Mourns Oba Olalekan Balogun

Engr. Kalil Repete on Friday joined the Oyo state government, Ibadanland, CCII, and the royal family to mourn the departed King, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Mohood Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II.

died on Thursday night at the University College Hospital (UCH) Ibadan at the age of 82. He spent two years on the throne of his forefathers, having been presented the Staff of Office by the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on March 11, 2022.

In his condolences over the death of the first-class monarch King, Repete described the late Monarch as a man whose service to humanity was exceptional. He said the late Oba Balogun’s service to his family, Ibadanland, Oyo state, and Nigerian will continue to be remembered.

” The statement partly reads, “ The news of the passing of our King the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Mohood Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, reached everybody with a deep sense of grief.

” Kabiesi has gone to meet the ancestors but, it glory to Almighty Allah that, baba lived a fulfilled life.

” Kabiesi Okunmade II was not honored with the throne, he rose from rank and file to achieve his dream of becoming a King for us Ibadanland, having also served Ibadan, Oyo state, and Nigeria in a democratic process.

” Oba Alli Okunmade is no more, but his simplicity, love, and achievements for Ibadan will continue to be in our hearts. I sympathize with the royal family, Oyo state government, People of Ibadan, and also CCII, may almighty Allah give us all the fortitude to bear the loss of our departed King of Ibadanland,” Khalil Repete prayed.
