Gov Makinde Impels Corps Members To Be Patriotic And Selfless In All Activities

Governor Seyi Makinde, who was represented by the deputy governor of Oyo State, Engr Rauf Olaniyan has urged the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members deployed to the state to be patriotic and selfless in their activities. Said the clarion call is to contribute their quota to the national development and Oyo State.

His message was delivered at the swearing-in ceremony for the 2019 batch B corps member at the NYSC permanent orientation camp, Ogbakuta, Iseyin, Oyo State.

“This clarion call is for you to serve your fatherland with a consistent display of hard work, discipline and a quest to contribute your quota to the national development and Oyo State in particular.”

Stating further, he also said, “The Oyo State government is determined to make a huge investment in youths. We will do everything within our capacity to ensure a conducive and secure environment during and after the orientation exercise.”

In her welcome speech, Mrs Eniola Ambekemo, the Oyo State NYSC coordinator said a total number of
2390 corps members were deployed to the state, which comprises 1130 males and 1260 females.urged implored the corps members to embrace the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) and also embrace each other’s culture especially the culture of their host communities.

“Records have shown the alarming rate of unemployment among graduate youths. To stem down this ugly development, I implore you to embrace Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme which is one of the course content of orientation exercise. Oyo NYSC coordinator added.

“For you to become self-reliant and employers of labour, you must participate actively in the SAED programme.”

The 2390 corps members deployed yo Oyo State will be posted to places of primary assignment after three weeks of camping.
