Adelabu, Ariwoola, Ogunesan, 7 Others From Oyo To Receive Nigeria’s 2022 National Award On Oct 11

Ten personality from Oyo state have been listed among the 437 nominees for the 2022 National Honours Award.

On the national honours list from Oyo state are :

1 – Justice Ariwoola  CJN GCON

Olukayode Ariwoola GCON (born 22 August 1954) is a Nigerian jurist and justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria who serves as the chief justice of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

2 – Prof. Afonja Olumuyiwa AdebayoAcademiaCON

Prof. AFONJA Olumuyiwa Adebayo, MBBS, M.Sc, ( December 15, 1937 ), a clinical pathologist , University Lecturer

Previous Appointments:
Science and Mathematics Teacher, Christ’s School, Ado-Ekiti, 1957-59; Honorary Lecturer, Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine, London, 1972-73; Honorary snr. Registrar, Royal Free Hospital, London, 1973-74; snr. Lecturer, College of Medicine, University of Lagos, 1978-87; prof. Clinical Pathology, College of Medicine, University of Lagos, 1987; chi Oyo State Health Council 1984-87; f: National Medical College in Pathology, 1982, West African College of Pathology;

3 – Rev. Samson Olasupo Adeniyi Ayokunle, President CAN – CON

Rev. Samson Olasupo Adeniyi Ayokunle, was born January 25, 1957  into the family of Amos Ogunkunle and Theresa Bibilari Ogunkunle of Jagun Alawusa House, Isheke, Oyo Town in Oyo State. He iscommonly known as Supo Ayokunle is a Nigerian pastor and administrator.

He is currently the 7th president of the Christian Association of Nigeria. He is also the 6th President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention. Assumed office 2016. Until becoming a pastor, Ayokunle worked as a teacher and public administrator.

4 – Adebayo Adelabu Fmr. Deputy Gov. CBN   – OFR

Chief Adebayo Adelabu was born 28 September 1970 to Aderibigbe Adelabu of Oke-Oluokun compound, Kudeti Area in Ibadan. His grandfather is Adegoke Adelabu.

He was a former deputy governor, operations of the Central Bank of Nigeria and 2019 Oyo State gubernatorial candidate for the All Progressives Congress, presently Oyo state Accord gubernatorial candidate for 2023 election.

  5 – Bar. Kehinde Aina, Legal Practioner – OFR

Mr Aina, founder of the Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse and Executive Director of Negotiation and Conflict Management Group (NCMG), is a nationally recognised ADR expert and Senior Expert of Aina Blankson LP—the foremost private ADR Law firm in Africa.

   6 – Iyiola Aboyeji CEO flutterwaveOON

Aboyeji was cited as one of the Top 100 most influential Africans by New African magazine in 2019.

   7 – Ezra Olubi, Chief Tech,  Officer/founder  paystackOON

Ezra Olubi was born 12 November 1986 in Ibadan. He is a Nigerian entrepreneur, LGBT advocate, IT expert, Mobile App, and Software developer. He is also the Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder of Paystack

   8 – Mrs. Ogunesan Hannah Oluwumi..
Former HOS Oyo stateMFR.

Olawunmi Ogunesan was former Oyo State Head Of Service, she is from Ago Amodu, Saki East local government in OKEOGUN region of Oyo State.

Mrs. Olawumi Ogunesan has retired voluntarily from the Civil Service effective Thursday, May 23, 2019.

   9 – Bashir Adewale Adeniyi ACG NCS. – MFR

Mr. Adeniyi is also from Oyo state, he is currently Commandant, Nigerian Customs Command & Staff College , Gwagwalada, was among  2,634 Customs Officers promoted in 2020 by the board comprising foor others ACGs as announced in a statement by the current customs Spokesperson, Mr. Joseph Attah.

10- Chief Samuel Okunbanjo DisableMON

Chief Dr . Samuel Ade Okubanjo, thou, he was listed for among the Oyo state nominee for Nigeria’s National Honours Awards 2022 but the former sec.General of Africa union of the Blind and a life member of world blind union Is from Osun atate.

Chief (Dr) Samuel Adebanjo Okubanjo was born on January 25th , 1933 in Ijebu Igbo, Ogun State to Rev Joseph Okubanjo from Ijebu Igbo and Mrs. Felicia Okubanjo from Ilesha. He had his Primary Education at St Badmus Anglican School, Ilesha from 1938-1946, where he acquired the Standard Six Certificate.

The investiture is billed to hold on 11 October at the State House in Abuja..
