Adamasingba Stadium: It’s Embarrassing Seeing Leaking Roof, Water-Logged Pitch After Spending N5.3b On Remodeling – Pro- Oyo APC Group
A Pro-All Progressive Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Oyo Must Be Great (OMBG) has berated the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, and the People Democratic Party (PDP) Oyo State chapter over the ‘International Embarasment’ given to the people of the state during the commissioning of the poorly remodeling stadium after spending huge amount of Oyo state money on the project.
The group after careful monitoring and investigation of the newly remodel popular Adamasingba Stadium in Ibadan can observe that the stadium is poorly and shabbily renovated, and need the sanctioning of the contractor handling the project.
In a statement issued to the pressmen by the convener of the group; Hon Ishola Akeem Adetoyese, the group chides Gov. Seyi Makinde and the state chapter of the People Democratic Party for given the state what we can call, “International Embarrassment” in the hand and face of the Slovenia football club invited for the commissioning.
“Let us first apologize to all the dignitaries; former Vice President and 2019 PDP presidential candidate, Alh. Atiku Abubakar, Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo state, Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo State, former Gov. Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, former Gov. Alao Akala, and a host of others invited to this commissioning on the bad experience as against the value they expect for the money claimed to have been expended on the stadium remodeling.”
“And to the NK Tabor Sezana, we are sorry for making you playing in a swimming pool-like stadium.”
“We also want to apologize on behalf of Gov. Makinde to our royal majesties barred from entering the stadium yesterday. Kindly forgive him, the ancestors have deal with him accordingly, and we want our Kabiesis to be thanking God for what happened there, and that save them from the international embarrassment.”
“It is important to state that, we should start questioning the contractor handling the project if they understand the pre-concept of the remodeling, and have pure knowledge of the main concept that the state wants for dishing out over five billion of naira for the project. And who assess their schematic design that has no drainage for easy passes of the center pitch water-logged.”
“What we know generally at the international standard is that stadium is not always placed on jamboree timelines like that of Adamsingba that end up embarrassing the whole state in the eyes of the global community as broadcast on many international channels like DSTV, Channel, AIT, NTA, and few others.”
“It does not sound logical that an excuse like; “it is still under construction” will be popping out in defense of this obvious poor remodeling. Does it even sound good that an established government is commissioning a work in progress project and call media of all categories for coverage?.”
“We should stop fooling our sense of reasoning. The contractor should by now be made dancing in front of the probe panel for embarrassing the governor and the state as a whole.” And also the state government as a matter of urgency should handover the contractor to the anti graft agencies for proper scrutiny and probe; the group said.
