President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the sum of N920.5 billion for the execution of seven major road projects across Oyo, Kwara and Osun States, with a significant portion of the projects located in Oyo State.

The approved projects, aimed at improving transportation infrastructure, boosting economic activities and enhancing connectivity across the affected states, cover critical road corridors linking major towns and communities.
Among the projects is the dualisation of the Ilorin-Ogbomoso Road, which has been allocated N276 billion. The project is expected to improve movement between Kwara and Oyo States while supporting trade and commerce along the corridor.
Also approved is the reconstruction of the Iseyin-Eruwa-Agbesi Road, spanning Oyo and Kwara States, with an allocation of N265 billion.
The Ogbomoso-Oko-Illupu Road, connecting Oyo and Osun States, will receive N110 billion for construction, while the 30-kilometre Idi-Araba-Ayede-Olodo Road in Oyo State has been earmarked N98 billion.

Other Oyo State road projects approved include the rehabilitation of Igbeti Road, which will gulp N82 billion, the construction of Igbeti-Soro-Kishi Road at N74 billion, and the 13-kilometre Badeku-Jaiye Road, allocated N15.5 billion.
The approvals represent one of the Federal Government’s ongoing efforts to address road infrastructure challenges, enhance regional integration and create an enabling environment for economic growth through improved transportation networks.
The projects, when completed, are expected to ease travel, reduce logistics challenges and open up new opportunities for businesses and residents across the benefiting communities.
