Former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Oloye Jumoke Akinjide, has announced her return to active politics ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring her support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli.
The announcement was made on Tuesday through a statement issued on her behalf by her Special Assistant, Hon. Olatundun Leke Gabriel (JP), a former Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly.
In the statement, Gabriel expressed appreciation to Akinjide’s political associates, loyal supporters and well-wishers for their continued loyalty, prayers and support over the years, while announcing the commencement of what he described as her renewed political journey.
“We are pleased to announce that the journey to renewed service has begun. Jumoke is coming – Renewed Hope 2027,” the statement declared.
Akinjide, through the statement, also called on her supporters across Oyo State and beyond to remain united, steadfast and committed as she aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu and the political vision of Senator Alli ahead of the 2027 elections.
The statement read in part: “As we align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of our Leader and Father, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and with the vision of our Gubernatorial Candidate, Distinguished Senator Sharafadeen Alli, Gubernatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Oyo State, we urge all supporters across Oyo State and beyond to remain steadfast, united, prayerful and focused.”
The former minister also directed her political followers and supporters to mobilise for the unveiling of Senator Alli’s manifesto, scheduled to hold at Ogunlesi Hall, although further details of the event were not provided in the announcement.
She assured supporters that additional directives and details of forthcoming political engagements would be communicated in due course, urging them to remain connected and committed to the emerging political movement.
The announcement signals Akinjide’s renewed political engagement in Oyo State as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
