Sports Journalist Akinloye Oyebanji Dies At 62
A Nigerian veteran Sports journalist and retired Director of Nigerian Television Authority , Akinloye Oyebanji is dead.
His family confirmed to News Agency of Nigeria, that Mr Oyebanji passed on this morning at the National Hospital, Abuja, after a protracted battle with heart failure.
His family member disclosed that Mr Oyebanji had been ill for almost four months, and they had spent millions of naira to save his life.
Mr Oyebanji served the NTA for 35 years in different capacities, including being a sports broadcaster, and later as General Manager for sports.
He retired as Managing Director of NTA Properties in Abuja.
Mr Oyebanji, who is from Kwara, is survived by four children and a wife.
