The Media Office of Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli has dismissed as false, malicious and politically motivated reports circulating on social media alleging that the lawmaker is connected to the recent abduction of Chief Adebayo Adelabu’s sister, Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul, and her twin sons.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the media office described the allegations as defamatory, reckless and lacking any credible basis, insisting that Senator Alli has no connection whatsoever with the criminal incident or any individuals linked to it.

The statement condemned attempts to associate the senator with the kidnapping based on what it described as unverified claims allegedly made by a suspect currently under investigation.

According to the statement, Senator Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, is a respected legal practitioner and Ibadan High Chief whose record of public service and commitment to peace remain widely acknowledged.

“It is absurd and illogical for anyone to attempt to drag his hard-earned reputation into criminal allegations founded merely on unverified claims allegedly made by a suspect under investigation,” the statement read.

The media office further argued that efforts to link campaign materials or stickers bearing the senator’s name to criminal activities revealed what it termed a desperate agenda by political opponents to damage the reputation of a leader whose popularity continues to grow across Oyo State.

The statement noted that no security agency has established any connection between Senator Alli and the alleged crime, expressing concern that unverified claims were being circulated to mislead members of the public and create political tension.

Reaffirming the senator’s stance on security, the media office said Alli strongly condemns kidnapping and all forms of criminality, stressing that he has consistently supported initiatives aimed at strengthening security and safeguarding lives and property across Oyo State and the country.

The senator’s office urged the public to disregard the publication and avoid spreading information that could undermine ongoing investigations or inflame the political atmosphere.

It also called on security agencies to investigate the origin of the reports and ensure that individuals responsible for disseminating false information and political blackmail are brought to justice.

The statement maintained that Senator Alli remains focused on his legislative responsibilities, service to the people of Oyo State and his vision for a safer, more prosperous and united state.
