Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Wasilat Adegoke on Wednesday met with leadership of National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Oyo State chapter.
The discussion between Hon. Wasilat Adegoke and representatives of NYCN was centered on youth development and how Oyo State will have special agency for Youth Development to anchor Youth Empowerment to benefit youthful population in the state.
Hon. Wasilat spoke on the need why sports should be seen as an integral part of youth development in the state. She emphasized on the synergy between the Ministry and NYCN considering the love Engr Seyi Makinde have for the youths in the state.
The Commissioner hinted on how proposed academy will accelerate capital development and how the NYCN can key into ministry’s plan in accordance with the set agenda of OmiTuntun 2.0.
Attention of the Commissioner was called to the areas where students unrest and violence have become order of the day on possible interventions government can initiate in collaboration with NYCN.
Hon. Wasilat assured NYCN members that she will assist youthful organization in getting Governor’s audience for his decoration as the Grand Patron of NYCN ahead of its National Youth Summit.
