The Executive Chairman of Ido local government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, has commenced the second phase of installation of streetlights in four major wards within the council area.

This development, according to the Chairman, is targeted at complementing the light-up project executed by the Governor at the state level.

The council boss reiterated his commitment towards adding to the quality of life of the people, saying that the streetlights will serve as a source of security in the areas covered and will assist the security personnel in their surveillance roles within the areas.

According to him, the illumination will equally serve as a protective light for the motorists plying the areas covered by the project.

He explained that the project has been completed in ward 3 and ward 5 while work is ongoing in Ward 1 and ward 4.

The first phase of the project covered Balogun Toriola village in ward 4 and Orobiyi Road in ward 8 area of the Council.

He said: “Let me use this medium to reiterate my administration’s unflinching commitment to the uplifting of the welfare of our people and we shall always endeavour to bring to fruition our great dreams of better life for our residents.

“I only want to appeal to our people, irrespective of political and religious affiliations, to cooperate with our Government in steering the ship of this State to greater heights as we continue to support him at the local government level.”

“We know our people are appreciative of this project. We have initiated it in two wards and other wards in the Council too will benefit from it soon as it is an ongoing thing. It will be more useful for motorists plying the areas and our traders,” Adeojo added.
