Oyo South: Tegbe To Drag INEC, APC, Sarafa Alli To Election Tribunal

The Oyo South PDP senatorial candidate in the just concluded national assembly election, Chief Joseph Tegbe says he will challenge the outcome of the result in the district as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

In a statement he personally signed, Chief Tegbe said the result was unacceptable and assured that any electoral fraud discovered would be challenged within the full ambit of the law.

The Oyo south PDP senatorial candidate urged everyone to remain calm saying he is studying the results from various units and wards, especially those places where the official reports differ from the field reports.

He appreciated the good people of Oyo South for the support given to him before and during the just-concluded election.

Said he:”My sincere appreciation to our loyalists, the volunteers, and all supporters of the Tegbe Movement and the PDP at large for their good efforts towards the elections”.

“As good citizens of our country and stakeholders in our Senatorial District, you have performed your civic responsibilities by coming out to vote, and peacefully too”.

“At this moment, I wish to remind everyone that whatever setback from this election is just a minor hurdle we have to cross before the gubernatorial election scheduled for March 11, 2023”.

“Rather than being discouraged, we should guard our loins and double our determination to support and deliver His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde for a second term to keep Oyo state on the path of development.

It will be recalled that, the Oyo South senatorial district Returning Officer, Professor Wole Olatokun while announcing the result of the election in the early hours of Monday, read from the scoresheet that Alli of APC scored a total of 111,513 votes to defeat all other candidates who contested the election.

Olatokun explained that other candidates such as Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) scored 92,481 votes to claim the second position while Idris Kolapoboye Kola-Daisi of Accord scored a total of 33,641 votes.

Others who participated such as candidates of SDP got 655, LP, YPP scored 603, NNPP scored 1314
