Oyo Abscond Cases : One Found Other Boarded A North-bound Vehicle – Makinde

Hours after two coronavirus patients was reported missing in Oyo state, governor Makinde has gave details of whereabout of the absconded patients.

Makinde in his Oyo state Covid-19 task force update of May 6th, 2020 said, one of the two, who ran away after tested positive has been found and moved to Infectious Disease Centre (IDC), Olodo for treatment while the second, who is a 10-year-old boy was reported to have gone back to his state in North, according to eye witnesses.

” We also have a further update on the two absconded cases reported earlier today. They absconded before being admitted to any of our isolation centres. After intensive contact tracing, one of them has been found and admitted to the IDC, Olodo. The other is a 10-year-old boy who eye witnesses claim boarded a north-bound vehicle. His details have been sent to the Sokoto State PHEOC. Contact tracing is still ongoing.

Makinde who admitted records of new cases in the state said the COVID-19 confirmation tests of eight new cases came back positive from the laboratory on Wednesday night, therefore increased the number of confirmed cases in Oyo State to fifty-two.

The governor urged Oyo residents to call the Emergency Operations Centre on 08095394000, 08095863000, 08078288999, 08078288800, if they find travellers from other states arriving their community.
