One Hundred Days Under Olufemi Fulani, FRCN Ibadan Zonal Director, The Journey So Far

Since assuming office on the 27th of January,2026 the Zonal Director of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN Ibadan Zonal Station, Mr. Olufemi Fulani, has demonstrated purposeful and result-oriented leadership that has repositioned the station for greater efficiency, visibility and service delivery.

Within just one hundred days in office, Mr. Fulani has embarked on transformative initiatives aimed at restoring confidence, boosting staff morale and strengthening the operational capacity of the station.

One of the notable achievements recorded under his leadership is the restoration of stable electricity supply to the station through the reconnection of power by the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, IBEDC.

This development has significantly improved operational efficiency and reduced disruptions in broadcast activities.

In further effort to ensure uninterrupted power supply, the management also procured a 20KVA diesel generator to support critical operations and guarantee seamless transmission.

The intervention has enhanced productivity and reinforced the station’s commitment to quality broadcasting.

Mr. Fulani has equally prioritised institutional relationships and corporate visibility by engaging in strategic visits to organisations as well as receiving delegations from different institutions and groups notable are,OLUBADAN OF IBADAN LAND, INEC, NIHORT, OYSG, 2 DIV NIGERIA ARMY, FRSC, NSCDC amongst others with commitment for patronage.

These engagements have not only strengthened partnerships but have also improved the goodwill and public perception of the corporation within and beyond the broadcasting community.

As part of his wide consultations with stakeholders, Mr. Fulani also engaged former management staff of the corporation, drawing from their immeasurable wealth of experience and institutional knowledge to navigate the station through its challenging period.

The consultations have contributed immensely to efforts aimed at restoring stability, professionalism and strategic direction to the organisation.

Another milestone recorded during the period is the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, between the station and the Rotary Club of Ibadan for the upgrade of the station’s clinic.

The partnership is expected to improve healthcare services available to members of staff including residents of Dugbe envrirons and also promote staff welfare.

In the area of programming, the Zonal Director has championed the remodelling and introduction of new programmes on Premier FM as part of efforts to reposition the station in line with modern broadcasting realities and make it more competitive within the media industry.

The initiative has begun to attract wider listner engagement and renewed public interest in the station’s content.

Mr. Fulani’s administration has also focused on boosting staff morale through inclusive leadership, encouragement and renewed attention to the welfare of workers and special attention to adequate funds released to FM stations to function a priority.

His leadership style has inspired confidence among members of staff and restored hope in the station’s capacity to regain its pride of place in the broadcasting sector.

As the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Ibadan Zonal Station marks one hundred days under the leadership of Mr. Olufemi Fulani, stakeholders have continued to commend the achievements recorded within the short period with hope of more developmental strides to come.
