The immediate past Executive Chairman of Egbeda Local Government, Hon. Sodeeq Akintunde, popularly known as Sadak, is dead.

Akintunde reportedly passed away on Saturday at an undisclosed hospital in Lagos after a prolonged illness.

The late politician was a prominent figure in Oyo State politics and served as the elected chairman of Egbeda Local Government during the first-term administration of former Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi.

A close ally of the deceased, who confirmed the development, described his death as a rude shock to his family, friends, and political associates.

According to the source, Akintunde remained active in politics and maintained cordial relationships across the political landscape until his death.

The ally added that the former council chairman would be greatly missed for his contributions to grassroots politics and community development in Egbeda Local Government and beyond.

As of the time of filing this report, details regarding his burial arrangements had yet to be made public by the family.
