One Feared Killed, Other Injured In Oyo Political Crisis
One person was reportedly feared killed and many others injured in Ibarapa on Monday during a political campaign rally in Tapa community of Ibarapa North local government of Oyo state.

The campaign rally organized by the People’s Democratic Party, PDP turned deadly, sparking panic and tension across the Ibarapa area.
The deceased, OJULARI Azeez Jimoh, a 62-year-old and father of 3, who is a chieftain PDP in Ibarapa died during the incident.
According to an eye witness who pleaded anonymity, he said Jimoh died after being hit by a straight bullet during a heated argument between the members of his party, PDP and the opposition, All Progressives Congress, APC, over who has the right to use community playing ground for the campaign.
The source said attempts by some APC members to forcefully take over the playing ground for their use after the PDP members already made use of the space for their campaign led to violent clashes with PDP supporters who resisted the move, escalating tensions in the whole Ibadanland.

” The issue started when APC members stormed the Ansarudeen school playing ground to use it for their election campaign, but the members of the PDP already occupied the field, using it for their own election campaign too.
” Argument started, and the situation worsened when hoodlums allegedly loyal to the opposition started shooting sporadically and, as a result, killed Mr. OJULARI Azeez Jimoh during a confrontation.

Another credible source narrated that a gun battle ensued during the political fight between the PDP and APC members, resulting in the death of Mr. Ojulari and leaving many others critically injured.
Meanwhile, all efforts to reach the state Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, to confirm the incident were unsuccessful as all his mobile numbers were not going through.
