Olubadan-in-Council Start Money Contribution For Rehabilitation Of Roads Leading To Olubadan’s Palace
Concerned about the poor state of all roads leading to the Alarere residence of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Sen. Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade ll, the Olubadan Advisory Council have begun cash contributions among the Council members for the process of rehabilitation of the roads.
Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland, High Chief Olubunmi Isioye opened the voluntary contributions with of Two Million Naira ( N2m ).
The Otun Balogun of Ibadanland, High Chief Tajudeen Ajibola made this disclosure after the Olubadan Advisory Council meeting held at the Alarere, Olubadan’s palace Monday.
While reporting on the meeting, which had in attendance all the High Chiefs led by Balogun of Ibadanland and Otun Olubadan designate and the former governor of Oyo State, Owolabi Olakulehin and Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja respectively.
High Chief Ajibola explained that members of the Olubadan-in-Council were dissatisfied with the state of the roads leading to the Ibadan monarch’s residence, which prompted Ekerin Balogun to take action, noting that with the donation, efforts would be made to ensure that the roads were improved as soon as possible.
It is very noticeable of the deplorable condition of all the roads leading to the Alarere residence of the Olubadan of Ibadanland palace, the roads so shameful that, all visitors, indigenes, and non-indigenes of Ibadan keep complaining anytime using any of the roads to the palace.
It will be recalled that a northerner, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso complained openly about the bad condition of roads leading to the Olubadan palace during his homage to the palace when he came to Ibadan weeks ago.
Other members of the Olubadan-in-Council in attendance at the meeting were High Chiefs Lateef Gbadamosi Adebimpe (Osi-Balogun), Kola Adegbola (Ashipa Balogun), Olubunmi Dada Isioye (Ekerin Balogun) and Abiodun Azeez Agagagugu (Ekerin Balogun).
Also present were High Chiefs Eddy Oyewole (Osi-Olubadan designate), Abiodun Kola-Dais, I (Ashipa Olubadan designate), and Hamidu Ajibade (Ekerin Olubadan designate).
