Ibadan North East: Aspirant Withdraws From Race

Aspirant seeking state assembly nomination in Ibadan North East constituency 1 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Ishola Akeem Adetoyese has withdrawn from the race.

Adetoyese withdrew ahead of the indirect primary election scheduled to hold on Sunday, May 22 in compliance with the requirements of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Oyo assembly lawmaker aspirant said he decided after meeting with the party stakeholders and consulting widely with his constituents, supporters and well-wishers.

 

“After due consultations with my teeming supporters and core advisers, I hereby withdraw from the contest, I also decided to remain in the APC to give my support to the party and whoever wins elections. I will not defect to another party because of my principled belief and resolve to be a loyal and faithful party man.”

He maintained that his aspiration is not a personal ambition but a developed inspiration to contribute politically to the development of his constituency and the progress of his party.

“My current political pursuit must now bow to our collective interest. It is not about me but the better life of people living in my constituency and party APC “, Adetoyese stated

Adetoyese a Federal Board member a few weeks ago declared interest to contest the Ibadan Northeast constituency 1 seat at Oyo state House of Assembly.
