Olorunsogo LG To Engage More Ad-hoc Staff, Volunteers To Improve Heath Care In Council Area

 

In continuation of his efforts to make remarkable impacts in his council area and take the local government to an enviable height, chairman, Olorunsogo LG area of Oyo state, Hon. Qozeem Olayanju has inspected some facilities in the council

The Chairman this time visited primary healthcare centres, ALGON comprehensive health care centers and FSP clinic/pharmacy store with the purpose of gathering information on the level of renovation done on the facilities by contractors handling them.

Other facilities visited included an abandoned site for a community clinic along Islamic High School Road, rate office among others.

Recall that Hon Olayanju had recently embarked on the renovation of abandoned Oyo SUBEB building to be used by the Department of State Service, DSS; dredging of water channels and carnal as well as repair of earth moving vehicles that have been abandoned in the council

Speaking with journalists after the inspection, Hon. Olayanju said it was observed that out of the ten boreholes expected to be provided for ten health centers across the council, only eight were delivered.

Olayanju who expressed disappointment that two health centers were deprived of portable water supply gathered that workers at the health center with boreholes had to contribute personal money to connect the water system which the contractors failed to do.

The chairman said he would meet with the chairman primary health care board, Hon. Awoleye Dada to present the report and discuss the outcome of his visit to the health facilities to make contractors that handled the PHCs accountable and completing the projects

Hon. Olayanju who was accompanied by members of the council’s legislative and some heads of departments said he was more interested in the well-being of people in his council, thereby his determination to embark on actions that promote and develop high high-standard healthcare delivery system in Olorunsogo LG.

He expressed joy and appreciated the health workers for their dedication to duty in their respective centers, urging them to maintain the right attitude to work,

He commended their commitment to the promotion of healthcare delivery.

Hon Olayanju expressed confidence that all health centers that required extension, workforce, equipment, and other needs would be attended to as soon as possible by the state government described the sector as “life-saving”

“All centers that required electrification, water source, and waste management would be attended to as well.

“We will look into how this administration will include numerous numbers of health workers and volunteers into the ad-hoc list to relieve them a little of their no-income status”
